Engagement Theory
The engagement theory is the framework that I have decided to use to help me analyse the effectiveness of the digital tools that I will come across during this course. I have decided upon this framework as it emphasises the importance of technology to facilitate all aspects of engagement in learning. It also focuses around collaborative learning and that teams are working towards a common goal (Kearsley & Shneiderman, 2010). When reading the article about engagement theory I thought of the web page that was created in class and how this could be used effectively within a classroom environment. It is a tool which enables students to work along side one another but also enables group members to be adding to their "project" from home, different classrooms, or library. It allows for collaborative learning that does not always need to be face to face communication. The technology in this case would definately be the main aspect for engagment and would also enable students to all contribute by hands on means.
